Boy wearing headphones, sitting at a desk and using a laptopAs we prepare to return to school in an online environment, every student will need a laptop and internet access in order to complete assignments, participate in instruction, and collaborate and learn with others.

We are asking all families with a student to fill out a survey indicating device needs for each student, whether you have a device or whether you need a device. The survey can be found here: https://bit.ly/CCSDeviceRequest. This short survey will help us better understand the needs of our students and make sure that we are able to meet those needs.

Although the district intends to provide a device for every student in the future, some families may choose to provide their own device at this time. If you choose to purchase and/or provide a laptop for your child, please know that you will have another opportunity to receive a school system Chromebook once your child physically returns to school.

Please complete this survey before August 17, 2020.

Boy wearing headphones working with a laptopAs the COVID-19 pandemic looms and the start of a new school year approaches on August 17, once again, Cumberland County Schools (CCS) is giving parents the chance to decide how their child will be educated during the 2020-2021 school year based on what’s best for their family.

ACTION REQUIRED: To allow the district to prepare for Plan B, parents are asked to choose one of three learning experiences, within Plan B, that best suits their child. The option selection remains in place for at least one semester. Note: All students will have access to social-emotional support.

Visit www.reentry.ccs.k12.nc.us to learn more about learning options, and to choose the option that is best for your student.
