Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. and the Carnival will end at 7:00 p.m. There will be a lot of games to play and prizes to win! If you don’t have time to eat before you come, we will have food, drinks, and snacks for a small purchase price. Students may prepay for entry and game tickets this week. Informational about CCS Got Talent for Kindness Awareness Month an image on the bottom right of girls dancing and an image on the top right of a stage performanceThe Anti Bullying Task Force (ABTF) of Cumberland County Schools is recognizing October 2018 as Kindness Awareness Month. The purpose is to emphasize and recognize random acts of kindness. The ABTF has organized two events that promote the importance of Kindness. 
1. Community Donation Drive- Our school is asked to collect #2 pencils and handheld pencil sharpeners. By level, the school with the most “Random Acts of Kindness, ” will be determined as winners.
2. Project Kindness 2018 Presents, CCS Got Talent- CCS Got Talent is a talent show and art contest that our students may apply and enter to represent Bill Hefner. They will be demonstrating what kindness means to them. Contact Ms. Clark or Ms. Thompson in our Guidance Department for more info.

hurricane just ahead sign with stormy clouds backgroundStorm Brings Three-Hour Release, Two-Day Close for the CCS

The Cumberland County Schools (CCS) is working closely with Cumberland County Emergency Management to monitor the path of Hurricane Florence. Based on weather projections and the State of Emergency issued by the Cumberland County Commissioners, there will be a three-hour early release for students on Wednesday, September 12. CCS’ Prime Time before- and after-school care program will close two hours after schools dismiss. 

The school system will be closed on Thursday, September 13 and Friday, September 14 for all students and staff.

2018-2019  School Calendar Approved
The Cumberland County Board of Education approved the 2018-2019 schools calendar for those who attend Traditional schools, Year-Round schools, Early College high schools, and Cumberland Polytechnic High School. The calendars have been posted on the District Website.
