Bill Hefner Elementary will observe Bully Prevention Week from October 14-18, 2019. Students and teachers are encouraged to participate in the following specially-themed days:
Monday, October 14: Everyone Has a Name
Students will be encouraged to start the day by creating name tags, and to wear that name tag all day. They will try to greet everyone by their name, especially those whom they don’t usually address.
Tuesday, October 15: Nobody Eats Alone
Students will be encouraged to eat with someone new at lunch, and to make sure no one is eating by themselves.
Wednesday, October 16: Favorite T-shirt
Students are encouraged to wear a t-shirt that expresses something they are passionate about, like a favorite movie, team, sport or band. Students will be encouraged to find new friends with the same interest, and to bring that friend with them to Ms. Nikki in the cafeteria at lunch time to receive a prize.
Thursday, October 17: Random Acts of Kindness
Students and teachers are asked to complete random acts of kindness all day. A banner will be placed in the lobby, and students and teachers may post notes to give shout outs to someone who completed a random act of kindness for them. At the end of the day, one note will be picked, and the student who completed the act of kindness will receive a prize.
Friday, October 18: Hero Pride
Students and teachers are asked to max out on their red, white, and blue outfits to support our school.
